Joyce Parsons
After fighting the good fight, my loving and beautiful wife of 37 years, Joyce “Joy” Parsons, has moved on to Heaven to see her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Horten; brother, Paul Horten; and sister-in-law, Claudette Horten on Monday, August 10, 2020.
Joy was a 1976 graduate of Central High School as well as receiving a degree from Chattanooga State, where she spent the majority of her career working for Cigna.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles “Mike” Parsons; daughter, Dawn Parsons; grand-daughter, Violet Parsons; siblings, Mike (Phyllis) Horten, Stephen Horten, Ann Ford, Theresa (Keith) Rievley, Margaret Horten, Mary (Gregg) Rievley, Jim Horten, and Lynn Parsons; many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly; and several cousins.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen DePasquale and the staff of Women’s Oncology Group and Hospice of Chattanooga East, and a special thank you to her Cigna family of 27 years for all their continual love, support, messages, flowers, and prayers during this time.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, in the funeral home chapel.
