Cleveland State’s Law Enforcement Academy Closes Out 30 Years, Graduates 80th Class

No graduation ceremony. No special pomp and circumstance. However, for 23 graduates of Cleveland State Community College’s Law Enforcement Training Academy, it’s off to a brand new career in these historic times.

For the academy, though, this marks a historic time of its own. 

With this class of cadets, the college celebrates the completion of thirty years of law enforcement training. Once final examinations were successfully completed Thursday night at the college’s brand new Law Enforcement Training Academy facilities, the students of the academy’s eightieth class received their awards and honors. 

The graduates of the academy are Cody Allen, Elora; David Baker, Chattanooga; Alex Boesch, Winchester; Joe Brassfield, Tullahoma; Micah Bratcher, Smithville; Car Fairbanks, Sale Creek; Adam Farley, Walling; Chanel Finnell, Decatur; Tyler Haley, Yuma; Dylan Kirkland, Harriman; Randy Mancell, Savannah; Jason Massey, Ooltewah; Nathan Maynard, Chapel Hill; Amanda Mesa, Cleveland; Brian Miller, Tellico Plains; Jorden Moats, Cleveland; Zachary Neighbors, Cleveland; Sammy Previlus, Ooltewah; Zachariah Ryan, Dayton; Dalton Townsend, Englewood; Jared Underwood, Wartburg; and Shayne Wilburn, Madisonville.
 
With each class, top performers in various areas of expertise are honored.
For Cleveland State Community College Law Enforcement Academy Class 80, the following were recognized for their outstanding performance: Khristian Kirkland, Driving; Zachariah Ryan, Physical Fitness; Carl Fairbanks, Patrol Tactics; and Zachary Neighbors, Academic.

More than 2,000 students have graduated from the academy and gone on to careers in Law Enforcement. Cadets complete more than 500 hours of training during the 12 weeks of the academy. Cleveland State’s academy trains three classes of cadets each year.
