Thanks To District 1

  • Saturday, August 8, 2020

I want to thank all of the citizens in District 1 who voted for me to continue being your Hamilton County School Board Representative. After I won the race on Thursday, I was asked by a reporter, “Why do you think the voters in District 1 continue to elect you after 16 years?” I answered, “Because I know what my job is as a school board member. It is to be the voice of the people and students. My job is not to represent any special interest group. Special interest groups have representatives.

I am the only voice taxpayers, students and citizens have.”

I also want to send a special thank you out to all of my friends and family who helped me in my campaign. To all of you who sent out letters and postcards, put up signs, made phone calls, sent texts, sent donations, stood on the side of the road waving signs (in 90 degree heat), sat at the polls, wore my shirts and hats, and any of the other hundred things that had to be done, Thank You.

Another group of special people were ones who monitored social media. The 24/7 onslaught of misinformation and outright lies is something I never have never had to deal with in past campaigns. So, thank you to those who were watchdogs and contacted me so I could correct bad information.

I would love to name names of everyone who helped me but, I know I would forget someone. You know who you are. I am forever indebted to you. If I can ever be of assistance to any of you, you know my number. Thank you again.
