Cleveland’s Ryan Lovelace took top honors in the boys’ race Saturday morning at the Cleveland Area Cross Country Meet, but Walker Valley nabbed the team championship with a 23 second margin over second place McMinn County.

Bradley took third, while Cleveland and Red Bank followed.

In the girls’ side of the 5000 meter run, the Lady Blue Raiders’ Estella Clemons and Lily Tullock finished one and two, respectively, McMinn County placed first overall, topping the Cleveland ladies by a mere six seconds.

The remaining order of finish was Walker valley, Hixson and Bradley.

Lovelace raced the course in a time of 16:53.59, while Bradley’s Kurt West took second in a time of 17:43.57. Walker valley’s Chase Carroll was third at 18:00.90.

Clemons had a top time for the girls at 20:15.90. Her teammate, Tullock, crossed the finish at 22:21.68 and Lyndi Chapman of Walker Valley rounded out the top three with a time of 22:35.54.
