Kim Duane Dees, 75, of Cleveland, passed away on September 14, 2020. He was born in Corpus Christie, Tx. to the late Billy and Lois Dees. Kim was a PA-C and retired lieutenant colonel of Tennessee Army National Guard. He was past president of Tennessee Academy of PAs and the second license number in the State of Tennessee. In addition to his retired service in the Army National Guard, Kim served four years in the United States Air Force, stationed in Omaha, Ne. He loved playing golf, fishing, hunting, camping and generally being outdoors. Kim was known for his incredible sense of humor amongst his soldiers, patients, friends and family. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 35 years, Nancy McSpadden Dees; daughter, Meredith Lauren McConnell (Jonathan); son, Jason Dees; brother, Paul Dees (Sherry); sister, Kathleen; brother-in-law, David McSpadden (Charlotte); grandson, Nathaniel David McConnell; nieces and nephews, Shelly Baker (Timothy), Anna Hawkins (Chris), Richard Dees (Gabriella), and Joseph McSpadden (Ashley). In addition to these he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20 at Companion Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, with full military honors. Due to National Cemetery Regulations, the graveside service must be limited to family and close friends. We will live stream the committal service for those unable to attend. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Dees, Timothy Baker, Joseph McSpadden, Chris Hawkins, Jonathan McConnell, Richard Heinl and Harold Mize.
