Lifelong Resident Of Hixson Had Many Interests

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Ramona C. Vandergriff, 80, who passed away on January 10, 2020, after spending her precious final days surrounded by her loving family.

 

Ramona was a lifelong resident of Hixson and a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She worked as a housekeeper and as a dedicated home maker. She enjoyed fishing, bird watching, restoring furniture, cooking for her large family, attending auctions, and was a devoted, dedicated and loving wife, mother, Mamaw and Great-Mamaw.

 

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 52 years, Wayne Vandergriff, her beloved son, David Vandergriff, parents, Janie Bell and Charlie Ward, siblings, Jerry Ward and Anne Vandergriff, best friend, Lucy Hale, and nephew, Joey Rutherford.

 

She is survived by her children, Cathy (William) Loftis, Ken (JoAnne) Vandergriff; grandchildren, Chad (Natalie) Crowe, Heather (Chris) Bell, Nicki (Ricky) Grant and Cara (Mike) Richman; great-grandchildren, Anslie and Easton Crowe, Jack and Rose Sisk, Lillian and Jamison Bell; as well as nieces, nephews, and a son from another mother, Anthony Johnston.

 

Due to current COVID-19 concerns visitation and funeral services with only immediate family will be held.  Pallbearers will be Chad Crowe, Chris Bell, Ricky Grant, John Sisk, Jess Sloan and Anthony Johnston. Honorary pallbearer William Loftis. Burial will be in Hixson Cemetery.
