The Cherry Street Tavern, a new restaurant, is moving into the space at 719 Cherry Street, the former location of Mad Priest. The owners, Martin Thomas Bohannon and George Louis MacEwan, have a combined 40 years of experience in the food service business. Their new restaurant received a beer license at the Thursday morning meeting of the Chattanooga Beer Board. The restaurant will serve food and beer and, in the future, has plans to serve alcohol. There will also be music.

Cheese Dip Mexican Grill, 3643 Hixson Pike, Unit D, is a family owned, small, family style restaurant. It has been open for about a year without selling beer, but has now been approved for a consumer and carry-out beer permit for the purpose of increasing business. The owner Roberto Venegas, described the business as a restaurant with a food bar serving Chipotle style fare, and is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Menlo Park Neighborhood Grocery Store, 3630 Ridgeside Road, is owned and operated by Sean Sharif Daniels, who is also the president of the Menlo Park Neighborhood Association. The store sells tobacco products, lottery tickets, drinks and snacks in addition to food-to-go from the kitchen. The store is open from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon  until 6 p.m. on Sundays if he chooses to open.
