Longtime Chattanooga Police Officer Also Retired From McKee Foods

Charles Clinton Hass, 73, of Ooltewah, passed away on October 10, 2021.

He was a graduate of Rossville High School and was of the Church of God faith. Charlie served as a police officer with the Chattanooga Police Department for 30 years and then began his second career at McKee Foods for another 20 years before his retirement in 2018.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jonas and Oneda Hass, and a brother Gene Hass and a sister Paulette Nichols.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Hass, daughter, Sherri Hass, granddaughters, Kayla Hass and Ashley McClarty, brothers, Raymond Hass and Jerry Hass, sisters, Linda (Franklin) York and Rhonda (Robert) Smith, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 21, at 12:30 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Charles’ memory to either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Children’s Miracle Network.

Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Brainerd Chapel, 8214 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
