Eloise Maddox, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at her residence.

Eloise was preceded in death by her son, Paul Bernard Putman, parents, Maggie and Townsend Horton, Sr. , brothers, Townsend Horton Jr., and Richard Horton, Sr.

Survivors include son, Gerald (Heather) Putman,Sr.; daughter, Adrienne Putman; brothers, John L. (Elli) Horton, Clay (Dorothy) Horton; sisters, Mary E. (George) Haslerig, Eleanor Graves; grandkids, Tamisha and Richard McGee, Edrius Putman, Marvin Toney, Gerald Putman, Jr., Nicholas Putman, Courtney and Cortez Putman, Adrion Putman; nieces, Duchess Haslerig Wilder, Daphne Haslerig, Sharon Horton, LaDonna Jenkins, Brenda Sims, Nikita Graves, Tara Kennedy; nephews, Kirby (Lonja) Carr, George (Charonda) Haslerig III, Tony Horton, and Gary Horton; a host of great grandkids; very dear friend, Sabrena Williams, Tresha Appleberry, Mr. Williams, and Mrs. Brown.

A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, October 31, 2021, at First Baptist of Hixson, 4815 Winding Lane, 37343.

 Interment: Forest Hills Cemetery.

A downtown development has sold for $4.7 million. The property at 701 Cherry Street had been redeveloped by Mike and Matt McGauley. The first Krystal restaurant was at that location at the southwest corner of Seventh and Cherry. Krystal built its headquarters at the site in 1952.
