S. T. Eugene Howard
S. T. Eugene Howard, 79, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021 in a Chattanooga health care facility.
Mr. Howard was born in Cleveland and he was the son of the late Callie McBryant Howard and S. T. Howard. His sisters, Frances Hopkins, Linda McDaniel and brothers, John Howard, Raymond Howard, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Howard was a heavy equipment operator for the city of Cleveland for many years and he also was a truck driver, hauling cars for more than 10 years. In his younger years, he served as a deacon at Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Howard, more recently was a member of the Southview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sybile Howard of Cleveland; children, James Howard (Keturah), Jeromy Howard (Brandy), Anthony Howard (Doris), Tonya Black, Tammy Garrett (Mark), and Rhonda Arms (Scott); grandchildren, Tyler Howard, Jasper Howard, Ashton Howard, Justin Black, Kristy Goodner, Chris Powell, Jeffrey Fain, Joshuah Fain, Cyndel Greene, Allen Garrett, Casey Garrett, Ryan Howard and Aaron Howard; great-grandchildren, Memphis Powell, Knox Goodner, Hanna Black, Robert Black, Bailey Ellis, Malaki Fain, Makayla Howard, Jordan Howard, Macayla Howard, Jo Jo Howard, Ethan Garrett, Isiah Garrett, Amiera Garrett, Kayden Layne, Cameron Garrett, Bella Pierce and Lena Howard; sister, Marcella Romine; brother, Jerry Howard; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with Reverend Johnny Smith and Reverend Rob Works officiating. Interment will follow in the Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Chris Powell, John Evans, Casey Garrett, Allan Garrett, Ryan Howard, Jeffrey Fain, Tyler Howard and Memphis Howard serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services who has charge of the arrangements.
