Waltraud Padgett, 88, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021. 

 

She was born before World War II in Germany, near the French border. 

 

In the 1950s, Waltraud met a young American service member and became his wife, having three daughters.  She loved to knit and take care of her family and will be deeply missed.

 

Waltraud was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Charles in 1992; parents, Willheim and Barbara Schneider, and brother, Willie Schneider.

 

She is survived by her daughters, Jane Padgett, Barbara Padgett and Karen Padgett (Tommy Seiter); brother, Heinz (Elke) Schneider; sisters, Inge Puderbach and Hiltrude Trager; grandchildren, Carmen Padgett (Chris Collins) and Charlie Beales, and great-granddaughter, Selena Collins.

There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Turner Funeral Home, Highway 58 Chapel.

Ms. Padgett will be laid to rest with her husband, Charles in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
