Councilwoman Coonrod Thanks The Voters Of District 9

  • Friday, March 5, 2021

I am both humbled and honored that you have placed your confidence and support in me once again to represent you as your Councilwoman for District 9.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all that volunteered their time and energy to place signs on your lawns, host community led meet and greets, reminded your family and friends to get out and vote, and walk alongside with me as I canvassed the neighborhoods - it was all of these experiences that we shared together which solidifies even further to me why District 9 is a great community for everyone. I sincerely thank you.

I would like to acknowledge Kelvin Scott for his passion to see our community flourish. I thank him for participating in the democratic process and hope that he will continue to stay engaged alongside me to strengthen our neighborhoods block by block.

It is my hope as we, as a community, move forward together for another four years, that our other prominent community leaders, Mr. Moreland, Rep. JoAnne Favors, and Rep. Yusuf Hakeem will work with me to collectively address the needs and seek solutions to continue to elevate our community-at-large.

Our work isn’t done yet, my friends. Our city is in a run-off for mayor. Local elections matter and every vote does count. I want to encourage each of you to return to the polls and cast your vote again for Chattanooga’s next mayor.

Again, I thank you all and I’m excited to work with you to continue to see District 9 grow and thrive.

Councilwoman Demetrus Coonrod
