Dorothy Jones Reckard
Dorothy Jones Reckard, 91, of Hixson, passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday April 11, 2021.
She was a long time member of Brainerd United Methodist Church, serving as one of the church treasurers, and in the prayer ministry. She loved playing bridge with her many friends. Dorothy worked for many years as a secretary, and administrative assistant for several companies, retiring from East Ridge Hospital, once receiving the Employee of the Year award.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Charles F. Reckard, Jr.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Lyndie (Braxton) Cotton, Jean (Mark) Davis, and Mark (Debbie) Reckard; and grandchildren, Annie (Ruff) Blackard, Steven Sparks, Julia (Simon) Jones, Josh (Laura) Davis, Melissa (Mike) Vincent, and Heather (Jesse) Linville; several great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Brainerd United Methodist Church, on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Tim Bracken officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.
