U.S. Navy Veteran Held Long Career In The Foundry Industry

Wade Scott “Bo” Murray passed away on April 5, 2021. 

 

Bo was born in Bridgeport, Al., on May 15, 1927. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Bo was a U.S. Navy veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He played varsity football at MTSU between his military tours of duty. After college, Bo returned to Bridgeport to begin his 43-year career in the foundry industry. He was the vice president of Jacobs Manufacturing Company.  During his foundry career he served as the chairman of the Tennessee Chapter of the American Foundry Society. Bo was involved in many civic organizations.  He served as a bank director for the First National Bank of Scottsboro, North Alabama Cooperative and was chairman of the Bridgeport Utilities.

 

Bo was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Murray and Rachael Scott Murray; and his siblings, Billie Glass, Tate Murray and Peggy Hughes.

 

He is survived by his most loving wife of 70 years, Eileen Allison Murray. He is also survived by his daughter, Gloria Murray Smith and her husband Randy.  His granddaughters are Allison Smith Gadd and her husband Josh and Kathryn Smith Trimble and her husband Arch Trimble IV.  His great-grandchildren are Kate and Hunter Gadd and Arch V and Baker Trimble.

 

A graveside service will be held at the Rocky Springs cemetery in Bridgeport, Al., at 3 p.m. CDT

on Wednesday, April 7.  Pallbearers are Josh Gadd, Arch Trimble and nephews, Jim Hughes, Murray Hughes, Bill Murray and Mikey Feher.
