Ruth Mae Cross
Ruth Mae Cross, age 84, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021, in a local health care facility.
Mrs. Cross was born in Cleveland and she was the daughter of the late Fred Brown and Docia Gerald Shaw. Her husband, Jim Cross; her daughter, Barbara Brown; her son, Jackie Cross; her grandchildren, Nakia and Justin Stinnett; and her siblings, Louise, Elmer Katherine and George also preceded her in death.
Ruth was a former cook at Shoney’s with over 16 years of service. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Hicks, Charlotte Cross and Mary Jo Cross; her son, Glenn “Bo” Cross; her grandchildren, Amber Jaconay, Dustin and Kristen Cross, Misty and Mandy Underwood, Amy Cross, Tammy Willis, Benito Mendoza, Tiffany and Kris Cross and Chyanne and Dakota Guffey; her great-grandchildren, Ti’ Laziya Hughes, Kandin Fields, Vianca, Yasmin and Nora Willis, Agia and Aracely Underwood, Alyrron Walker, Marcus, Skyler, Jackson, Aiden, Lucian, Kyler and Kalllum Stinnett, Chloe Gartin, Jessica, Jazmine, Jocelyn Quintero; her great-great-grandchildren, Azilyah and Junior Jefford; her siblings, Pinky, John, David, Richard, Randy, Mary, special family, Fasil and Nadia Saeed; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Tuesday, May 11, at 11 a.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. Tim Woody officiating. The interment will follow at Chilcutt Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 10, from 5-8 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
