Shawnice Monique Hinton-Ellis, 30, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at her residence.
She attended Brainerd High School. She also attended Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Shawnice was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Anita Ellis, Jr.; brother, Ladarius Hinton; and uncle, Buddy Jones.
Survivors include her son, Legacy Kay’Ron Hinton-Ellis; father, Thomas (Jawanna) Ellis, III; mother, Trecia Hinton; grandparents, Melvin and Glenda Hinton; brothers, Michael (Erica) Hinton, Sr., Brandon (Patty) Grimes, twin, ShonDarius Hinton-Ellis, Dejuan Upshaw, and Thomas Ellis, IV; sisters, Cettetra Ellis and Keira (Jamie) Fitch; uncles, Melvin Hinton, Jr. and Demetrius Ellis; aunts, Shawn Ellis, Tamia Knight, and Donita Hyatt; special nieces, Abbaney Russell and Elyana Magan; special nephews, Michael Hinton, Jr., Vanzale Hinton, and Kortez Grimes; a host of other nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Shawnice will lie in state on Friday, Aug. 6, at 10:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. in the chapel with ShonDarius Hinton-Ellis as the eulogist.
