WCLE Interview: Principal Tells How Staff Saved Ocoee Middle School Student's Life

Mix 104.1 WCLE’s Steve Hartline held an exclusive interview with Ocoee Middle School Principal Corey Limburg and the school staff who responded to a student medical emergency and ultimately helped save that child’s life.


On Friday, Aug.

6, a student experienced a cardiac attack and collapsed in the hallways during dismissal time.


The school staff performed "like clock work" providing AED shocks, aided to the student for 10 minutes until EMS arrived. The family of the student is very grateful for the teachers of OMS and the paramedics. The student underwent tests at Vanderbilt to identify the cardiac condition. The student is now back home and in a stable condition.


The heroes recognized were Jodi Cofer, Megan Golden, Jacob Mason, Spencer Ferguson, Deputy Tony Moore, Sasha Hall, Diana Bivens, and Janie Holland.
