Daniel Andrew Smith, age 54, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by mother, Willie Frances Wood Smith and father, Charles Roy Smith.
He was a 1996 graduate of UGA College of Pharmacy and enjoyed helping others. He worked at Family Pharmacy and other various pharmacies in Dalton. He never met a stranger, was kind-hearted and had a great sense of humor. He was an avid golfer, sports card enthusiast, and was the life of the party. Although a diabetic, he never gave up his indulgence of Coca-Cola.
He is survived by his son, Tyler Raper of Chatsworth; sister, Nita Smith of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Linda Smith of Dalton; nieces, Hannah Smith and Hayley Smith; special friends, Clay Ketchum and Tracy Spence, of Dalton and friend from Texas, Rich Campbell.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Spence officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 18, from noon until 2 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
Burial will be in the West Hill Cemetery.
