Hallelujah - Tennessee’s Vehicle Emissions Testing Program Is Ending

  • Thursday, January 13, 2022

Thank you to all of our representatives for seeing this through. There are many citizens within Hamilton County that have had enough financial hardships in their lives without having to deal with this nonsense.

Many had to park a perfectly operating vehicle from a functional standpoint simply because the notorious “check engine light” came on or risk driving on an expired tag because they simply couldn’t afford potentially hundreds if not thousands of dollars to fix a sensor or part that may have not even impacted emissions.

This was a shortsighted program at best in the first place as it truly targeted the most vulnerable citizens who could not afford costly repairs much less a new vehicle.

Mike Carter will be smiling down on the citizens of Hamilton County tomorrow along with the other counties being freed of this burden.
