Betty Jean Morgan, lovingly known by family as “Mama”, was born on April 29, 1933, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Arthur Turnbow and the late Broscilla Turnbow Bowles. 
 
She was educated in the Chattanooga Public School system and attended Howard High School. 
 
Ms. Morgan retired from Erlanger Hospital’s Miller Eye Center in 1997 after 31 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. 
 
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Turnbow, mother, Broscilla Turnbow Bowles, stepfather, Chester Bowles, brother, James Charles Turnbow, sister, Belinda Bowles, daughter, Marilon Eberhardt, great grandson, Jaylon Eberhardt, cousin, Ann B. Moon, and son-in-law, Michael Kennard.
 
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters: Yolaundia (Louis) Banks, Sharon Kennard, Dionne Dodds; son: Don (Dorothy) Dodds of Nesbit, Mississippi; devoted great grandson: Kourtney Brown; grandchildren: Corey (Desiree) Kennard of Knoxville, Tennessee, Kendra Kennard, Courtney Brown, India Morgan of Fayetteville, Georgia, Tremaine Woods, Don Dodds Jr. of New Jersey, Alethia Dodds Jackson of Jacksonville, Florida, Latoya Whitten, Marlon Eberhardt, Kelvin Kennard, Brittany Eberhardt, Cedric Whitten, Fallon Whitten, Nedra Whitten, Mycah Boykin, Eric Dodds of Alabama; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; special nieces: Darnita Moon Bibbs, Cheryl Davis, Veronica McNeal and a host of other nieces, special nephew: Charles Moon and other nephews, and cousins; lifelong friends: the late Doris “Peggy” Ramseur, Marie Bailey, Jeannette Sparks, Annie B. Moon, Barbara Roberts, Pearl Sanders, Roxi Patton, Carol Jackson and a host of other friends; and son-in-law: Steven Eberhardt.

Public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23, at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, in the chapel of the funeral home.

Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
