Mary “Ann” Coffey went home to Jesus on January 25, 2022. Ann was born Sept. 27, 1947, to Elmer and Ruby Hamby in Athens. She started her career at Home Bank of Ducktown and went on to work at First Citizens of Cleveland and BB&T. She was a member of First Baptist of Benton.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ruby Hamby, and her brother, Tommy Hamby.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert Coffey; daughter, Melissa and husband, Donnie; son, Sam and wife, Cheryl; and four grandsons, Duncan, Bryce, Andrew, and Cameron.
There will be a visitation at Benton First Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 29 from 3-5 p.m. with a memorial service at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would deeply appreciate donations to St. Jude for cancer research.
