Melvin Chain, 70, passed away on December 23, 2021, in Chattanooga. He was born in Sparta, Ga., on July 12, 1951, to Paul Chain and Lou Jessie Chain.

 

Melvin attended Howard School of Academics and Technology. He had formerly been employed by U.S. Pipe and Foundry, Koch Foods, and retired from Pilgrim’s Pride. He was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.

 

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tommy Chain; sisters, Rose Mary Chain, Alinda Davis, Marcia Key Pickett, and Gwenvera Chain; uncle, Henry Allen Hubert; aunt, Irene Shelton.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory, three brothers, Paul Chain, Charles DeWayne Davis, and Darren Davis; two sisters, Lucille Chain and Elaine Davis, all of Chattanooga, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Public viewing will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home, followed immediately by a funeral service in the chapel.

 

Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
