Gerald Ray Duckworth
Gerald Ray Duckworth, age 90, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed Friday, December 31, 2021 at his home in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Ray was born in Peachtree, N.C. He was of the Christian faith. Ray was a veteran of the United States Army serving as corporal and achieved higher certification in Automotive Mechanics. He was a graduate of Polk County High School, Benton, Tn. and the National School of Business, Cleveland, Tn. in accounting. Ray was retired from General Motors, Atlanta, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar C. Duckworth and Mila Ann Leatherwood Duckworth; infant sister, Clara Jean Duckworth; and brothers, Clinton Kenneth Duckworth and Robert James Duckworth. He was also preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Ruth Tabor Duckworth and Bessie Haulk Duckworth; brother-in-law, L.B. Casey Hammons; nephew, Terry Duckworth; and niece, Linda Hammons.
Ray is survived by brothers, Carl Wayne Duckworth of Benton, Tn., and Chad Lee Duckworth and wife Brenda of Lenoir City, Tn.; sister, Betty Ann Hammons of Benton, Tn.; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Davis Duckworth of Lenoir City, Tn. He is survived by nieces and nephews whom he liked to think of as his children, having no children of his own. They are Carla Duckworth Ownby, Holly Duckworth Montano, Chad Lee Duckworth, Jr., Kenneth Duckworth, Chris Duckworth, Susan Jolley, Carolyn Flanigan, Jeannie Long and Dan Duckworth.
A private family memorial will take place with burial to take place in Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, Peachtree, N.C.
