Jerry Summers: Not The First Rodeo At The Budgetel Property

The tough legal action by our “law and order” Hamilton County District Attorney should be greatly appreciated by the citizens of East Ridge in ousting the law-breaking offenders from their residences at the Budgetel Motel allowing them to seek other shelter in the borough of East Ridge and is a positive (?) step forward to protect the public.

Unfortunately, this is not the first rodeo of the premises at 1410 N. Mack Smith Road.

“Top Cop Coty’s” predecessor declined to stop the alleged crime wave at East Ridge’s (ER) version of “Sin City”, but the late legal eagle (JA) convinced the rulers of ER that it would be well worth spending a substantial amount of taxpayers’ money to attempt to close the “Den of Sin” at the same location then known as the Superior Creek Lodge through a private Public Nuisance petition.

Unfortunately, the owners of said hot spot possessed the necessary financial resources to keep the doors open for the Extended Stay palatial palace adjacent to the I-75 freeway. As a result, the premises remained in use for several years for the financial benefit of the lawyers (and owners) until a new buyer was found.

Coincidentally, the rejected ideas of putting conditions on the proposed re-opening of the Airport Inn for the homeless in Gig City by the Mayor’s office and the ruling fathers and mothers, and educators/neighbors of the Silverdale folks were implemented under the careful judicial eye of the then Criminal Court judge (RS) at the Superior Creek Lodge.

With the increased revenue incoming into ER from the “Bounty over the Borders” state sales tax rebate programs, perhaps there will be a public outcry by the always concerned citizens of the municipality to purchase the Mack Smith “motel of morality” and convert it under proper supervision to become a shining sign of progress in addition to a privately financed soccer complex.

(Superior Creek Lodge to Budgetel Motel to Airport Inn! What progressive move could come next?)
