Green, George J. (Old Fort)

George J. Green, 86, of Old Fort, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

George enjoyed hunting and fishing at his cabin in the mountains. He retired from Coronet Industries in Dalton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Ethel Jones Green; and siblings, Stella Hardin, Josie Wilson, Calvin Green, Jim Green, Delmar Green, Paul “Tater” Green, Martha Green and Susie Ratcliff.

Survivors include his son, Ricky Green, his brothers, Earl Bill Green and Enoch (Cricket) Green, of Tennga, Ga.; half-brother, Sonny Green, of Chatsworth, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home at Cleveland, with the Reverend Chad Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Church in Tennga, Ga. His family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., prior to the service.
