UTC Women Travel To Ohio Sunday

The Chattanooga Mocs head to Ohio for a Sunday afternoon game at Ohio for just the second meeting between the two teams.

This will be the second meeting all-time between the two teams. The Bobcats came away with a 70-58 victory over the Mocs in 2019 at the Roundhouse. Chattanooga was scheduled to make the return trip to the Ohio in 2020, but the game was postponed due to the pandemic.

Chattanooga is 7-5 on the year, getting a win over North Alabama in its last outing.
The Mocs lead the Southern Conference in scoring defense with foes averaging 52.6 points per game. The Mocs points given up this season was 69 at Tennessee.

Yazz Wazeerud-Din leads the Mocs in scoring and three-point shooting. She has scored in double digits 10 out of 12 games and topped 20 points five times. Raven Thompson leads the Mocs in rebounding and is second on the team in scoring. She recorded her first double-double at UNC Asheville. She has double-digit rebounds three times. Abbey Cornelius became the 30th member of the Mocs 1,000 point club at UNA. She is just the third player at UTC to have 1,000 points, 700 rebounds and 100 blocked shots. She is third on the team in scoring and second for rebounds while leading UTC in blocked shots. Addie Grace Porter is second on the team in rebounding and leads the Southern Conference in defensive rebounds. She has a team-best 3.0 assists per game.

Ohio is 2-6 overall with back-to-back wins over Indiana State (74-62) and Dayton (52-51). The Bobcats lost its last two games to George Washington and Cincinnati. While averaging 62.6 points per game, the Bobcats are being outscored by nearly 11 points per game. They are also outrebounded by more than 12 boards per game. Ohio lets it fly from deep, averaging 7.1 3-pointers per game, making 57-of-217 on the year.

Yaya Felder and Caitlyn Kroll are the two Bobcats in double figures with Felder leading the team with 17.3 per game. Kroll is averaging 10.1 points and a team-best 5.5 rebounds per game. Felder posted a double-double against Dayton with 20 points and 10 rebounds with two assists and three steals. Kross has scored in double figures four times with three out the last four games.
