Mary Allene Love, lifelong resident of Soddy Daisy, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, her true love by her side. She was 83.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 60 years, Thomas Edward Love. Although she had no children of her own, Allene was blessed to have been the favored aunt to all her nieces and nephews, and honorary aunt to a special select group of children of close family friends. In her home, all were welcome and well fed.

Allene had an abundance of patience and spent her free time assisting family and friends in any way possible. She loved to travel out West to see the sights and would often drive the mountains to hear local bands perform. Before retirement, she enjoyed working with gem stones for a local jewelry manufacturer; things that sparkled made her smile. She had a very strong faith and could be seen in the congregation any Sunday at Dividing Ridge Church of God or Sequoyah Church of God. She had a passion for crafts which made her invaluable during vacation Bible school. We will all miss her smile and warm embrace.

Allene was preceded in death by her father, Frank Barbee; her mother, Pauline Barbee; and her twin brother, Franklin "Gene” Eugene Barbee.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating toHospice of Chattanooga, with their care and support Allene was able to be comfortable at home under their watchful supervision during her final days.
