Six Mocs Named To Stats Perform All-American Teams

  • Tuesday, December 20, 2022
The Chattanooga Mocs holidays got a little brighter Tuesday with the release of the annual Stats Perform All-America teams as well as the first by the Bluebloods. Six total Mocs were honored between the two organizations with five on the Stats Perform squad and four on the Bluebloods.

Stats Perform recognized offensive lineman McClendon Curtis and edge Jay Person on their first team. The duo won the Southern Conference top honors with Curtis named Jacobs Blocking Award and Person the Defensive Player of the Year.

Defensive tackle Devonnsha Maxwell claimed a spot on the second team with running back Ailym Ford on the third.
Offensive lineman Bryce Goodner got his first national nod making the Freshman All-America team.

The Bluebloods inaugural All-American list showed the Mocs once again prominent in the discussion. Curtis and Maxwell were joined on that first team by cornerback Kameron Brown. Person was second team.

These are the third and fourth All-America releases in the FCS calendar. Previous stories include HERO Sports and AP teams. The breakdown by team to date:

First Team: McClendon Curtis (3), Devonnsha Maxwell (2), Jay Person (2), Kameron Brown (1)
Second Team: Curtis (1), Maxwell (2), Person (1), Brown (1)
Third Team: Ailym Ford (1)
Soph. A-A: Reid Williams (HERO)
Frosh A-A: Bryce Goodner (Stats Perform)
