Gabe, a 16-year-old from Hixson, is excited for his wish to come true thanks to Make-A-Wish East Tennessee. He and his parents will be among the first to experience Disney’s newest Star Wars attraction. Gabe is departing on his trip on Thursday and a celebration and send-off will be held at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport. Local members of the 501st Legion, a worldwide Star Wars costuming organization comprised of and operated by Star Wars fans, will be on hand and in costume to help Gabe prepare for the adventure.
Make-A-Wish will be sending 22 wish kids from across the country on a voyage aboard the Halcyon Starcruiser from Friday-Sunday thanks to Disney. These are the first wishes to be granted on the ship and the children and their families will be among the very first guests before the public opening on March 1.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is an immersive two-night vacation experience that goes beyond anything Disney has done before. Guests arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort terminal, board a launch pod, and rendezvous with the magnificent Halcyon Starcruiser. From the moment guests board the Halcyon Starcruiser, they’ll be the hero of their own Star Wars story – engaging in missions, sampling exotic cuisine, and taking a planet excursion to Batuu (Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios).
Along the way, guests will be invited to create a personal adventure by participating in onboard activities and interacting with characters, becoming part of a truly unique Star Wars experience that only Disney could create.
