The author of the New York Times bestselling book “From Scratch” will deliver the keynote address at Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C.’s 2022 Embrace Aging Forum. Tembi Locke will share her personal experiences as a caregiver and the importance of creating a community when it matters most, as written in her best-selling memoir. Reese Witherspoon and Zoe Saldana are adapting Locke’s memoir as a limited series for Netflix, airing later this year.
“My journey caring for my late husband taught me the depth of the human experience,” said Ms. Locke. “I am proud to honor his memory and our journey together by advocating for the needs of caregivers who are experiencing life’s unexpected twists and turns.”
Ms. Locke will share her experiences at the annual event planned for Tuesday, June 28 at the Westin Hotel in downtown Chattanooga, which will include a special meet and greet and book signing with the author. The event connects seniors and their families to community resources and forward-thinking perspectives on all areas of life, including health and wellness, family relationships, housing and care, finances and legal planning.

“From Scratch” is a New York Times Bestseller, New York Times Audio Bestseller, Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Selection, Barnes & Noble 2019 Summer Reading Pick and Apple iBook Featured Pick. The book was also chosen as Ms. Witherspoon’s May 2019 pick for her book club Hello Sunshine. Ms. Saldana will play Ms. Locke in the upcoming Netflix series.
