Johnny Holden Henderson, 65, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022, with his loving family by his side.

He graduated from Mount de Sales Academy in Macon, Ga. Johnny was actively involved with sports throughout his early life and played football and baseball for the University of Georgia Bulldogs with brief professional stints with the Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Chiefs, and Baltimore (now Indianapolis) Colts. He then coached college football at NC State and UTC as well as youth football/baseball in Athens, Ga. In his off time, he enjoyed playing golf, watching the Atlanta Braves, and taking care of the yard. He worked in the car industry for 35 years, most recently retiring as finance manager at Moss Motor Co. Johnny enjoyed spending time with his large extended family, especially at Jekyll Island.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Frances (Fosky) and William (Billy) Henderson; mother-in-law and father-in-law Willie and Raymond Collins; brother, Bradford, and his son Zachary.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Patricia Collins Henderson and his son, Bradford Henderson; sisters, Fran Hobbs, Chris (Perry) Watts, and Carol (Steve) Brooks; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Frances and Peter Gebs. He is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.           

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 22, at 3 p.m. (CST) at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor Joe McDaniel officiating.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, from 1-3 p.m. (CST) at the funeral home prior to the service in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ESP, Inc. 189 VFW Drive, Watkinsville, G 30677.

Face masks are recommended.
