Greater Chattanooga Navy League Attends Southern Region Conference

The Navy League Southern Region two day conference was held on the Pensacola, Fl. naval base at the National Flight Academy at the Naval Aviation Museum.

The group headed over to the Naval Aviation School Command Theater to hear Admiral James G. Foggo (RET.) (Dean, Center for Maritime Strategy Navy League of U. S.) speak of his background and world current events, including information on the Russian/Ukraine war. ADM Foggo, III, USN (RET) is the Navy League's national spokesperson.  He is a retired 4-star admiral and is a 1981 graduate of the US Naval Academy.  Throughout his career, Foggo has been a champion of the Navy as an extended arm of diplomacy.  

Navy Leaguers from Councils all over the Southern Region gathered to learn how to conquer the challenge of how to make Navy League work better and picked up insights on how the US Navy is meeting its challenges. 

The Southern Area President, Mark McDonald worked in conjunction with the Pensacola Council to provide a two-day conference for the councils interested in meeting one another and exchanging ideas. Captain Bill Hewitt, USN (RET) shared his knowledge on legislative affair matters.  National President David Reilly, National Senior Vice President Christopher "Towny" Townsend, Mike Stevens, CEO Navy League of the US/13th Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (RET); and Mark Harden, Judge Advocate, National NL, were also in attendance.
