If we know that no teleport machine had anything to do with our existence, then it must be true that we exist from a greater power. If we know that we went from nothing (in our mother’s womb) to a human baby, then we know that God’s creation must be true. “In the beginning, God created...” (Genesis 1:1); to know and believe this very verse, sets the tone for all the verses that follow.
We can all vividly see that there is so much wrongness (sin) across this world, but you have to know and believe that all of this is in the book (the Bible) that we believe. If we know this, what do we do; how do we respond; how should we view life. With so many “Hot Button” issues, are we seeing/discerning what is happening from a biblical perspective or from a worldly view?
Roe v. Wade being overturned: Yes, it should. Why, because we believe in the greatest book of the land – The Bible. But you know what else should be overturned in our life/our hearts, (sin) - unlawful killings of one another; lying; stealing; cheating; gossip; deceitfulness; bulling; mistreating one another; sex outside of marriage; adultery; talking bad about one another; homosexuality.... How can a person justifiably make a case against one sin (abortion) when they are living in and have a heart full of sin at the same time?
Then there’s another (of many) hot button topics – the 2000 Mules movie. What if the election was stolen? What if there are crooked people doing dirty, underhand work for the government? What if we are being lied to or they are hiding the truth? What do we still know to be true – God is still in control. He allows whomever He sees fit to be in authority, and will do whatever necessary to allow His mission to be fulfilled. But the only way we will know and believe this to be true is if we truly believe Genesis 1:1; the totality of God’s word.
Where do you and I stand in this world? Under the leadership of God’s word or this world (“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12)
