William "Bill" Reynolds
William G. "Bill" Reynolds passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
Beginning in 2013, Bill rose to the challenge of battling cancer, and lived well until recently when the cancer took over. He graduated from University of Chattanooga and retired from Cumis CMFG Insurance Company as claims adjuster manager.
Bill especially enjoyed landscaping his lawn and family gatherings, including competitive annual pumpkin carving parties. He was a dedicated member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, and was active with the Prime Timers, Knights of Columbus; and a veteran as MSG Tennessee Army National Guard where he received the National Defense Service Metal, Sharpshooter Badge, Army Reserve component Achievement Medal and the Professional Development Ribbon. Bill stayed close to many former co-workers and childhood buddies, who he enjoyed baseball games, western movies, and reminiscing with about their good old days in Lakeview, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Mary Lou (Phillips) and Bill Reynolds, and brother, Ronald A. Reynolds.
Bill is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carolee. He loved and encouraged her children, Mike O’Neill (Lin), Mark O’Neill (Jeff), Donna Hollars (Ralph J III), grandchildren; Patrick O’Neill (Maddie), Andrew O’Neill (Jessi), Matthew O’Neill, Tanner Hollars, MacKenzi Hollars and great grandson, Notley O’Neill. Respected and loved by all who knew him, Bill will be also be remembered by many friends and relatives, including his 100-year-old Aunt France Reynolds Kunkle, sister; Kathy Dittmar (Lou), Nephews; Jason Dittmar (Jennifer), Jeremy Dittmar (Brook), Ronald Aaron Reynolds (Morgan), William G. (Billy) Reynolds, niece, Angela Dittmar; great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends for visitation starting at 10 a.m., with a Celebration of Life Funeral Liturgy Mass to follow at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 7111 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421 on Thursday, May 5. Friends are welcomed to the reception after mass at noon.
Graveside services and interment will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Baily Ave., Chattanooga, at 2:30 p.m. for any who would like to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Stephen Catholic Church for the Building Fund.
