The CCS softball team earned two big wins in the first round of the Division II-AA softball tournament. The win earns a spot in the final four Division II-AA softball tournament next week in Murfreesboro.
In the first game, Brentwood took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. CCS scored one in the sixth.
Addi Lewis had a three run homerun in the top of the seventh and CCS closed out the game to win 6-5.
McKayne Layne and McKenah Beamon had two hits each. Addi Lewis had three RBI's.
The second game was a slugfest with 26 total hits; 15 for Brentwood and 11 for CCS.
CCS took a 6-0 lead early in the game but Brentwood battled back to tie the game at eight in the sixth inning.
CCS loaded the bases and Emily Matthews was hit by a pitch to score the game winning run.
Hannah Smith, Emily Matthews, McKekah Beamon and Addi Lewis each had two hits each.
N. Halfacre had three RBI's.
