Jones, Susan Annette Lewis (Cleveland)

  • Monday, June 27, 2022
Susan Annette Lewis Jones was gifted to this earth on July 14, 1963 and went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. A hero in the eyes of her daughters, Susan leaves a legacy of love and kindness. Susan was an animal lover and bird enthusiast, as well as a giver, a caretaker, a gardener, a child of God, a chef, a faithful friend and a lover of rock-n-roll. Above all of these titles, her favorite was "Gammy"; her grandchildren were the joy of her life.

Susan was a pillar of strength for those around her, she was selfless, dependable and hardworking. Throughout her life she has shown God's love through her by volunteering with youth ministries (puppet and drama) with the church and work through mission trips. She also volunteered her time on multiple election campaigns over her lifetime, starting in the early 80's and as recently as 2012. Susan was an unbelievably hard worker, always having a full time job, as well as doing taxes year round. She has worked at courthouses, radio stations, built bridges with TVA, hardware stores, retail stores, catering companies, managed check cashing stores and was a licensed tax preparer since '92. Despite all of those professions, she was most proud of being called Mom.

Susan was consistent and genuine in the way she loved. If you were blessed to know Susan, then it is likely she has fed you, talked you through a tough time or offered a helping hand in some way, probably more times than you can count. She was always happy to welcome any and all who needed a mother's care, guidance and love. Although she only had two biological children of her own, countless others have called her "Mom."

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Oliver Eugene Lewis and her mother, Robbie (Mickey) Dean Lewis.

Susan waits in heaven for her beloved daughters, Hillary Jones Conover, Sara Jones (Shaun Wells) and her non-biological but equally loved daughter, Lauren Boyd; son-in-law, Keith Conover; her grandchildren, Abigail Conover, Axl Conover, Lilith Holt and grandbaby still baking, Sebastien Wells; former husband, Ricardo Jones; and countless other dearly loved family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Companion Funeral Home on Monday, June 27 from 4-7 p.m., with a service to follow at 7 p.m.
The family requests that everyone wear Susan's favorite color, green, to honor and celebrate her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please donate to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption or the National Adoption Foundation.
