I-75 Concrete Rehab Project Has Left Roadway Dangerous And In Poor Condition

  • Tuesday, July 12, 2022

Why is the I-75 concrete rehab project a total disaster.  What happened?  Who's responsible? And what is TDOT going to do to fix it?

The concrete rehab project between Exit 7 and 11 on I-75 in Chattanooga is a complete mess.  The slabs are worse now than they were before. I didn't think that was possible, but I have been on dirt and clay roads that are smoother than this stretch of I-75.  Please tell me the contractor is being ordered to return to the job and fix their mess.

And, please let someone know that their MOT for the project was dangerous and life threatening.  I am not sure who would approve an MOT where drivers have to accelerate from a dead stop to 65 mph just to merge into traffic.  I saw at least three wrecks caused by this MOT design, I have no doubt there were more.  One of the most serious I witnessed happened right in front of a THP officer working the project.

It would be interesting to know how many accidents were the result of this concrete rehab project.
