Derrick Summers
Derrick Blake Summers, Sr., 42, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022, in a local hospital.
He was born on January 25, 1980, to the late Mr. Marion Walker, Jr. and Ms. Kathy Jean Summers in Chattanooga. He was an attendee of Howard High School and was employed by Arcade Beauty.
On May 15, 2015, he married the love of his life, Denise. They blended families and later were blessed with a son together, Dennis.
Derrick was funny, loved music, cars, and his favorite football team was the Raiders. He was a hardworking, loving husband and devoted father and stepfather, son, brother, cousin, and friend. He will be truly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, George and Ruby Summers; Marion Walker, Sr. and Estella Richardson; brother, Marion Walker, III; aunt, Sandy Summers
He leaves behind his wife, Denise; two sons, Derrick Summers Jr., and Dennis Summers; one daughter, Derrileque; one grandson, Derrick Summers, III; three stepchildren, Jayda Hughes, Jaydan Parker, and Darmarko McCane; one sister, Dora Walker; one brother, Marvin Walker, Sr.; three uncles, Richard Summers, Jerry (Penny) Summers, Terry (Regina) Summers; one aunt, Lelia Bell Woodley; one devoted cousin, Lisa Summers Winston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 19, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423 622-9995.
