Margaret Amelia Moten Foster, 85, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022.

She was born April 26 ,1937 in Walker County. She was a graduate of Hill High School. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church for over 40 years. She retired from Salem Carpet where she worked for many years. She enjoyed cooking, talking on the phone, and watching church services on Facebook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Warren Richard Foster, Jr.; son, James T. Foster; parents, James, Sr. and Bessie Murphy Moten; siblings, Eva Brown, Thamon Moten, Mattie Smith, Lucy Moore, James Moten, Jr., Paul Moten, and Nola Clements; grandson, Sharone T Porter; and great-grandsons, Lawrence Foster, Shawn Foster, James Foster.

She is survived by her five children, Sytira Porter, Calvin (Edith) Foster, Armelia Elliot, Arquilla Foster, and Melvin Foster; grandchildren, Sharee, Sherman (Lorraine), Sherrie, Sharon, Martene, Sheena (Roosevelt), Monique, Shenay, Shawn, Sharena, Jamal, Octavia, Carlos, Akieba, Torrie, Malena, Tonya (Meverly); great grandchildren, Miracle, Jamese, Ty’Sean, Ebony, Jakhira, Marterious, Jamiyah, Tra’Sean, Javonike, Derrick, Jr., Aaliyah, Javincia, Jamere, LaShaunti, TJ, Domnick, JaNoah, JT, Jayda, Charlie, Isaiah, Kalvun, McKinlee, Harmonie, Lyrik, Zyiare, Xavier, Carlisha, Dashara, Cache, and CJ; great great grandchildren, Alivia, Aubyn, PJ; brother, Oliver (Joann) Moten, Sr., sister-in-law, Mary Moten; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dedicated friends.

Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, Sept. 17, at noon at Grace Baptist Church, 210 Thomas Ave, Chickamauga, GA 30707, with Pastor William Tramble, eulogist, and Pastor Ron Carson, officiant.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.

She will lie in state at funeral home on Friday, Sept. 16, after noon.

Interment will be Monday, Sept. 19, at 12:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
