United Way Calls For Volunteer Advocates

  • Wednesday, January 25, 2023

United Way of Greater Chattanooga is growing the volunteer-led review process for their community grant applications. Volunteers for the 2023-2024 cycle should apply by Feb. 10.

These community volunteers are called Volunteer Advocates, and their expertise on a variety of community needs is what makes funding decisions more inclusive and impactful for the community, said officials.

The value of community members being involved in this process can’t be overstated. VAs like Ken Jones, Senior Director of Procurement with EPB, see the value not just for the community, but for themselves personally.

“Being a Volunteer Advocate for United Way means having a community led approach to impacting the communities where we live, work, and play... It brings about a sense of fulfillment to know your input is helping people.”

UWGC is looking for people that have diverse backgrounds and expertise in the fields of health, education, or stability. Apply by visiting Community Investments Volunteers - United Way Chattanooga.
