Native Of Chattanooga Loved To Travel And Loved Her Family

JoAnn Kimsey, 83, of Soddy Daisy, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 26, 2023.

JoAnn was a native of Chattanooga. She loved her family and was her grandchildren’s #1 fan at all of their sporting events. She enjoyed taking trips and was extremely loyal to her friends. She stayed particularly close to a group of five high school classmates throughout her life.

She was a member of The Crossing Church and was devoted to her faith in Christ and involvement in her church activities. She was a “prayer warrior” and was constantly helping others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Nancy Bradshaw, first husband, Ernest E. Jones, Sr., second husband, Larry Kimsey, sister, Gail Bradshaw, and grandson, Matthew Jacob Jones.

Left behind to cherish her life are her children, Ernie Jones, Jr. (Nancee), of Tullahoma, Tn., Nathan Jones (Cynthia), of Lexington, KY, Danielle Jones Daverson (Mike), Kristie Perry (Steven), both of Chattanooga, TN, grandchildren, Abigail Jones, Ernie Jones, III, Nathan Jones, Jr., Louis Jones, Will Jones, Peyton Daverson, Shaw Daverson (Aubrie), Joseph Perry and Will Perry, two sisters, Bonnie Riggs (Gerald), of Dayton, Tn., Pam Porter (Randy), of Hixson, Tn., brother, Gene Bradshaw (Linda), of Evansville, Tn., and many dear friends.

A Celebration of JoAnn’s Life will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 1, in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Ernie Jones, Jr., and Rev. Nathan Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6–8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home.
