James Garner
James F. Garner, 69, of Cohutta, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ruby Garner and his brothers, Delmar Garner and Dave Garner.
Jim was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Patricia Garner; his daughters and sons-in-law, Toni and Bill Dickerson of Varnell, Jane and Dean Fritz of Dalton; his sons and daughter-in-law, Gabe Garner of Dalton, Sam and Angela Patrick of Dalton; sister, Mary Jo Smith of Chatsworth; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cleve Underwood of Ellijay, Harold Garner of Columbus, Ozella Garner of Resaca, Mary Frances Garner of Calhoun; grandchildren, Austin Patrick, Christopher Holland, Michael Dickerson, Lauren Patrick, Chad Brock, Breanna Garner; great-grand daughter, Kinsley Blount. Nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church with Reverend Darey Kittle and Bob Overstreet officiating.
Mr. Garner’s casket will lie in state at the church from 12 p.m. until the service time at 1 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 2, from 5-8 p.m.
The burial will be held at West Hill Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Steve Austin, Pete Underwood, Pete Daffron, Dean Thompson, Calvin Burger and Larry Ingle.
