This article will be an attempt to put a humorous touch on a non-humorous topic that might raise its ugly head (old cliché) in other parts of America but those of us who are fortunate enough to live in the “Choo Choo City” do not have to worry about inflation in our daily lives.

With our low crime rate, low sewer repairs, debt, multiple “Best” nationwide ratings, etc., it may be entertaining to provide a few comprehensive examples of what famous individuals and others define the term that is one of the top issues in the 2024 state and national elections:

1) “When prices go from reasonable to expensive to ‘How much have you got with you?’”- Bob Hope (Comedian)

2) “The only form of taxation that can be imposed without legislation.”- Milton Friedman (Economist)

3) “Prosperity with high blood pressure.”- Arnold Glasgow (Satirist)

4) “When half of your money goes up in smoke, and you need the other half to put out the fire.”- Leopold Fechtner (Author)

5) “When you’re wealthy and you can no longer afford the things you bought when you were poor.”- Robert Orben (Comedy Writer)

(Each of the about sources and authors may be of some comfort if the “era of prosperity” doesn’t quite turn out as predicted in our -32 trillion dollar debt economy?)
