Tavarious Dequan Johnson was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on May 29, 2000. He was born to his loving parents Toriq Johnson, Sr. and Tomica Sivels. He departed from earth on September 24, 2023.

Tavarious attended multiple schools in the Hamilton County School district. He went on to receive his GED in 2018. Tavarious held a position at Gestamp here in Chattanooga. Tavarious was a very loving and family oriented young man. He was always sure to let everyone know that he loved them. As a child, he had a love for the game of football. If you knew Tavarious you knew he loved his mother! He would always say “I will always be your baby boy”.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Tommie Lee Sivels, Jr., and Booker T. Miller, Jr.; grandmother, Annie Johnson; aunt, Sherrlyn Hurd; uncle, Corey Baker; brother, Toriq Quinn Johnson, Jr.

Tavarious leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving parents, Toriq Johnson, Sr., and Tomica Sivels; grandmother, Glenda Diane Helton; siblings, JaMichael Johnson, Tadazia (Mark) Jackson, Tyler Sivels, Jasmine Johnson, ShaTariq Johnson, Toriana Johnson, and Adreonna Buchanan; nieces and nephews, Miracle Johnson, R’eign Johnson, Jaeleigh Johnson, JaMichael Johnson, Jr., and JaMichael Johnson, II, and Karmyn Jackson; uncles and aunts; Gerald Miller, Greg (Nicki) Miller, Shanita Randolph Miller, Marshonda Wilson, Veronica Dennard, and Jacolbi Miller, Tommy Lyons, Daphane Buchanan Lloyd; a host of other loved ones and close friends.

Public viewing will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, followed by a 1 p.m. funeral service at New Covenant Fellowship Church, 1326 North Moore Road.

Interment will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery.
