Brian Michael Gallagher
Brian Michael Gallagher went home to his Heavenly Father on October 24, 2023.
He was born on Oct. 11, 1981, to the late Frederick M. Gallagher and Margaret L. Gallagher. Brian was the youngest and only son of five children. He, miraculously, was born 3 months prematurely and weighed only 1 pound 13 ounces. From birth, he thrived against all odds, and he packed so much into his 42 years.
As a young boy, he was a natural athlete, a math whiz, and enjoyed disassembling everything just to put it back together. He graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in Construction Management and worked as a Construction Superintendent. He enjoyed his work, from overseeing big projects, including the Capitol Building in Asheville, NC, to remodeling homes, especially for family and friends. As a self-taught chef, he loved to concoct delicious and authentic meals and invite everyone to enjoy the food and fellowship. Along with having his own special language with all dogs, he had a soft spot for his own two beloved dogs, Winston and Zen.
Brian was the epitome of love and compassion, as he wholeheartedly sought out ways to connect with everyone, especially the less fortunate. With his good looks, outgoing personality, and tender heart, he had an amazing way of making others feel special. His welcoming smile and infectious laugh could lighten the darkest of rooms. He touched many lives by restoring lost joy when others needed it most. His faith was stronger than ever the last years of his life. He will be deeply missed by everyone.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Frederick M. Gallagher of Chattanooga.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret L. Gallagher of Chattanooga, four sisters: Ann Underwood of Ooltewah, TN, Megan Vogrin of Chattanooga, TN, Bridget Sutton of Fair Play, SC, Erin Gallagher of Chattanooga, TN, four nieces, four nephews, one great niece and countless friends.
