James Ruben Walling, 70, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, died on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
He was born on March 1, 1953 in Dayton, Tn. to the late James I. and Willie Mae Walling. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Walling; two brothers, Robert Walling and Jimmy Walling and a sister, Janeth Lawson.
James was a longtime employee of Chattanooga State Community College. He was a master mechanic who could fix anything. He loved to work. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Karen Walling; granddaughter, Miya Mohr; sisters, Delilah Simmons and Jeanie VanWinkle; sister-in-law Sherry (Jeff) Webb; many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many longtime friends.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the North Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jerry McNabb officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
