Long, Benjamin Eddie

His Work Was Principled, And His Focus Was On His Family

  • Saturday, March 18, 2023

Benjamin Eddie Long was a Union Man. A true, IBEW craftsman who labored across North America under machinery and metal. His hands turned from smooth to calloused so those he was responsible to wouldn’t have the experience. His work was principled, his focus was always fixed on family and brotherhood, and he labored under the prospect loved ones would flourish.

He never stopped being who he was. He negotiated with struggle but relied on his Bible. He guided and maintained Donna to Mama, Mama to Gramma, his son Caleb to Daddy, and his daughter Autumn to Doctor. He was proud of this work. He relaxed most when Wyatt, Ben, Matt, and Sarah were around. On March 3, 2023, “Pap” came to rest after his work was complete.

Graveside services will be held on March 24, at 2 p.m. in Ooltewah Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
