Bill Callahan
William Eugene “Bill” Callahan, 82, of LaFayette, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Beth Callahan; parents, Barney and Fannie Callahan; and brother, B.J. “Buddy” Callahan.
Bill was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters UA Local 43 of Chattanooga for 57 years. During that time, he founded Callahan Plumbing and Welding in which he owned and operated up until his retirement. Bill loved spending time at the lake with his F-Troop friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathy (Bryan) Morton; grandchildren, Rachel (Ben) Brooks and Will (Lacie) Morton; great grandchildren, Greyson Brooks and Rhett Morton; several nieces and nephews; and his fur buddy, Archie.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, at the LaFayette First United Methodist Church with Rod Callahan and Terry Shannon officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Bill will lie in state at the church on Wednesday an hour prior to the service.
Interment will be private at LaFayette Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers are Ray Brooks, David Brothers, Richard Farrell, Bill Lanham, and Clay and Cliff Martin.
