Gerald W. Kelly, 86, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the family residence.

Mr. Kelly was born in Smyth County, Va. and he was the son of the late Eva Pauline Henegar Kelly and Clarence P. Kelly. His sister-in-law, Jo Stansell also preceded him in death.

He was retired from Olin with 38 years of service as an accountant. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 81 here in Cleveland. Mr. Kelly enjoyed the outdoors including fishing. He was an amazing guitar player and enjoyed collecting guitars. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Hiwassee Baptist Church in Calhoun, Tn.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Louise Kelly, Cleveland; sons, Wayne Kelly, M. D. (Britany), Cleveland, Shawn Kelly, Knoxville; grandchildren, Amber Kelly Bramblett, Autumn Kelly, Christian Kelly (Sarai), Will Kelly, Wes Kelly; great grandchildren, Elias Kelly, Stella Kelly; sisters, Norma Jean Walker Fisher, Ocala, Florida, Nancy Pless, Tampa, Florida; sisters in law, Gail McConnell (David), Brenda Eslinger and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Sunday, April 2, at 2 p.m. at Hiwassee Baptist Church with Reverend Stanley Liner officiating. Interment will follow in the Calhoun First Baptist Church Cemetery with Christian Kelly, Will Kelly, Wes Kelly, Keith McConnell, Frank Howard and Tyler Cobb serving as active casket bearers. Military honors will be given. Chris Myers will serve as an honorary casket bearer.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the Hiwassee Baptist Church in Calhoun, Tn. The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
