Casey Dungan, who has served as vice president and chief financial officer of BlueCare Tennessee since 2019, will become the organization’s new president and CEO on May 1.

He succeeds current leader Amber Cambron, who is retiring after 35 years of service with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and a 30-year career with the BlueCare division.

“Casey’s experience in the health care industry and the insights he brings from his decade of working in TennCare have already been a great benefit to BlueCare’s ongoing partnership with the state,” said Todd Ray, senior vice president of government programs for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. “I’m confident that experience will serve Casey well at the helm of the BlueCare leadership team.”

As president and CEO, Mr. Dungan will lead the executive team at BlueCare, assuming responsibility for the organization serving more than 700,000 of Tennessee’s most vulnerable residents.

“Casey has a great mind for the business side of health care, and a heart that’s committed to our members and our mission,” Ms. Cambron said. “I’m grateful to know that I’ll be leaving the exemplary team at BlueCare under his leadership.”

BlueCare Tennessee has managed health care for Tennesseans on behalf of the TennCare Medicaid program since its creation in 1994. The program works proactively to help members overcome obstacles to getting needed care and provides support to communities across the state.

Mr. Dungan earned his master’s in public administration from the University of Georgia, and a bachelor’s degree from Duke University.
